UMSL Wins 3-1 at Kentucky Wesleyan Bimslager Records Goal and Assist in Victory Owensboro, Ky. – The UMSL men’s soccer team got a big road win with a 3-1 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan on Friday afternoon. The Panthers took the early lead, getting a goal from John Smeathers at the 27:22 mark for a 1-0 lead. UMSL would then tie the game late in the half on an unassisted goal by Scott Wittenborn (cape Girardeau, Mo./Notre Dame) to tie it at 1-1 at halftime. In the second half, Adam Bimslager (Florissant, Mo./St. Thomas Aquinas) helped spark the offense to the win. Bimslager scored the go ahead goal at the 54:26 mark to put UMSL ahead, and then helped secure the win as he assisted on a goal by Jeff Menke (St. Louis, Mo./Rosary) for the 3-1 victory. UMSL
improves to 5-8-1 overall with the win and goes to 3-3-1 in the GLVC.
The Rivermen will be in action again on Sunday when they travel to play
at Bellarmine at 12 pm.
