Rivermen Fall Prey to Hawks

UMSL takes a 2-0 attack from Quincy

St. Louis, Mo. – The UM-St. Louis Rivermen faced off against the Quincy Hawks at home tonight, but were unable to capitalize as they fall 2-0.

The Hawks took control early to jump out to the lead, when they scored a goal off a free kick. The Hawks held off any attack the Rivermen would attempt to put together for the rest of the half. At the break the Hawks lead 1-0.

The second half looked much like the first, with Quincy dominating the pitch. The Hawks put another on the board while refusing to allow the Rivermen a shot on goal. The Quincy defense was too strong as the Rivermen were shutout 2-0.

The Rivermen will be back in action at home on Sunday, October 19 with they take the pitch against Gannon University; game time is set for noon.
