UMSL Ends Season with a 3-0 Loss

Rivermen fall to Lewis in GLVC Quarterfinals

Romeoville, Ill. – The UMSL men’s soccer team saw their season come to an end with a 3-0 loss at Lewis in the quarterfinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament.

The Rivermen entered the tournament as the sixth seed, and held the Flyers in check for the first half of the game. Neither team could find the net in the opening period and it was tied 0-0 at the half. Lewis then came out on fire in the second half, scoring three goals for the win. The first goal came at the 56:20 mark, and was followed by a second goal at the 74:31 mark. With UMSL’s defense pushed forward to create more scoring chances, Lewis added a third goal with four minutes remaining for the 3-0 final.

The Rivermen finish the season at 6-13-1 on the year.
