UMSL Dominates Bellarmine

Rivermen stomp the Knights 4-1

Louisville, Kent. – The UM-St. Louis men’s soccer team tallied a 4-1 road win over Bellarmine University on Sunday afternoon. Four different Rivermen put one by the Bellarmine goalie for the win.

In the first half Adam Bimslager (Florissant, Mo./St. Thomas Aquinas) put one in at 21:00 with an assist from Alan Jujic (St. Louis, Mo./Afton). Six minutes later Jeff Menke (St. Louis, Mo./Rosary) would score the game-winning goal unassisted. The second half started with Bellarmine fending off the shutout as they were able to get one by the Rivermen defense. UM-St. Louis would not give them another chance, however, as they put two more on the board. At 80:00 Jeff Facchin (Hazelwood, Mo./DeSmet) would slide one by the goalie with another assist for Jujic. Seven minutes after Facchin would claim an assist when Scott Wittenborn (Cape Girardeau, Mo./Notre Dame) blasted one in for the final goal of the game.

The Rivermen are now 6-8-1 on the season and 4-3-1 in the conference. The men will take the pitch Friday October 17, 2003 at 7:00pm against Quincy.
