| Rivermen Fall to Lindenwood UMSL men's soccer team loses 3-1 ST. LOUIS, MO – The UMSL men's soccer team lost their second game of the season to Lindenwood University Wednesday evening. The first goal of the game came at the 43:09 minute mark, when Lindenwood's Bojan Kumar took the ball from UMSL's defender to score on a one-on-one with the goalie. The Lions second goal of the half came off an assist from Lindenwood's Gordon Inglis to teammate Branko Savic in the lower right corner. Lindenwood attacked again in the second half with 33:34 remaining when teammate Nenad Curic sent a short ball and Rodrigo Souza headed in the lower left corner. UMSL attempted a comeback in the 24th minute when Dave Walters (St. Louis, Mo./Ritenour HS) left the ball at top speed to Nick Carron (Fenton, Mo./Rockwood Summit) who drilled the ball just wide. Late in the second half, Lindenwood fouled UMSL in the box and Walters made the penalty kick to make the final score 3-1. The
UMSL soccer team will host Truman State on Sunday, September 15, at
noon.
