| Stegman Named GLVC Player of the Week Senior is Second on the Conference in Scoring ST. LOUIS, MO – UMSL's Jeff Stegman (St. Louis, Mo./Vianney) was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week after another incredible performance for the senior. Stegman has been the sparkplug of an UMSL team that has shot out of the gate this season and is currently 5-3 overall and 4-1 in the GLVC. Stegman was instrumental in two UMSL wins this past week, a 4-2 victory at Indianapolis and a 4-3 overtime win at home against Southern Indiana. Against Indianapolis, Stegman scored the first goal of the game for the Rivermen to get the scoring started. With the scored tied at 2-2 in the second half, Stegman then assisted on the go-ahead goal as UMSL went on to win 4-2. In the game against Southern Indiana, Stegman again played a big key in the victory. He recorded an assist on the first goal of the game, and with UMSL leading 2-1 found the net for himself, scoring to give UMSL a cushion at 3-1. After Southern Indiana rallied to tie the game and send it to overtime, Stegman then scored the game-winning goal with five seconds left on the clock in the first overtime period for the 4-3 UMSL win. On the season, Stegman is leading the Rivermen in scoring with a team-best eight goals on the year. He also has three assists for a total of 19 points, which ranks as the second highest total in the conference.
