Men's Soccer Team Lights Up Scoreboard 5-0 Sunday

Wilder, KY – The UMSL men's soccer team proves to be scoring machines Sunday afternoon as they mark their first conference win with a 5-0 victory versus the Norse of Northern Kentucky. This win improves the Rivermen's record to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in GLVC action.

The first goal of the game came in the first half when Adam Bimslager (Florissant, Mo./St. Thomas Aquinas) received a pass from teammate Jeff Stegman (St. Louis, Mo./Vianney) and hit the net from 20 yards out. Stegman then scored the second goal unassisted in the 24 minute of the game. Jim Reiter (Troy, Mo./Troy Buchanan) added with another unassisted goal in the 75 minute off a deflection from the goalie. Stegman hit the fourth goal on a pass from Bimslager, then beat the goalie for the 4-0 lead. Senior Chris Stockman (St. Peters, Mo./Fort Zumwalt South) headed in the last goal of the afternoon on a pass from Anthony Rivituso (St. louis, Mo./Oakville. This win puts UMSL to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

The UMSL men's soccer team will host Bellarmine University this Friday, September 27 at 5 pm and then Kentucky Wesleyan on Sunday, September 29 at noon.
