UMSL Finishes 6th; Thomas Places 3rd Individually

Edwardsville, Ill. – UMSL gofler Matt Thomas had his second straight, top-five finish after placing third at the rain-shortened SIUE Cougar Classic this weekend. UMSL finished in sixth place as a team, shooting a one-round score of 301, matching their season best score. The event held the first round on Saturday, but had Sunday's second round cancelled due to storms in the area.

Thomas shot a one-under par 71 to finish in a tie for third place and was just four strokes behind the individual winner. Ryan Miller shot a 74 to finish in a tie for 18th place and Diego Jimenez finished tied for 31st with a 76. Tim Swoboda shot an 80 to finish in 58th and Luigi Wewege shot an 83 to finish in 75th place.
