UMSL Completes First Tournament of the Season

Sunrise Beach, Mo. – The Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team completed their first tournament of the season at the Missouri Intercollegiate, which includes teams of all college levels from across the state.

UMSL placed 13th in the three round tournament, shooting consistently and improving by one stroke each day. The Rivermen shot 324-323-322 (969) for the tournament. Division I schools UMKC and Missouri State finished first and second respectively, and fellow GLVC school Drury placed third.

Luigi Wewege led UMSL, placing 17th in the tournament with a three-round score of 228 (75-75-78). Tim Swoboda shot 243 (82-82-79) to finish in 52nd and Matt Thomas and Ryan Miller each tied for 59th with identical scores of 249. Thomas shot 83-83-83 and Miller shot 84-83-82. Diego Jimenez rounded out the UMSL scoring with a 252 (85-83-84) to finish in 62nd.
