| Thomas, Jimenez Record Top 10 Finishes at GLVC Championships Columbus, Ind. – UMSL men's golfers Matt Thomas and Diego Jimenez both recorded top ten finishes at the GLVC Championships. Thomas placed fourth with a three-round score of 221 (74-72-75), finishing two strokes behind the individual champion, and earning GLVC All-Conference honors, while Jimenez finished in ninth place, shooting a 224 (77-76-71). It was the first time since the 2000 season that UMSL had two golfers place in the top ten of the GLVC Championships. Thomas was tied for fourth place after a first round 74, and after an even-par 72 in the second round he was in second place just one stroke behind the leader. He finished with a 75 in the third round on Tuesday to finish in a tie for fourth place. Jimenez improved in each round, shooting a 77 in the opening round and a 76 in the second round and was tied for 27th place heading into the final round. Jimenez shot a 1-under 71 in the third round, the second best round of the tournament to finish in ninth place. As a team, UMSL finished in ninth place with a three-round score of 923, just one stroke behind eighth placed Saint Joseph's College. The Rivermen shot a 316 in the opening round, then made a move in the second round with a score of 301 and finished with a 306 in the third round. Individually, Tim Swoboda shot a 239 (83-74-82) to finish in 45th, Luigi Wewege shot a 241 (84-79-78) to finish 48th and Ryan Miller finished with a 250 (82-85-83) to place 63rd.
