Matt Thomas Named All-Conference Selection

St. Louis, Mo. – UMSL men’s golfer Matt Thomas (St. Louis, Mo./Mehlville) was named a Great Lakes Valley All-Conference selection. The conference office released the full list of ten golfers selected as all-conference honorees, which included Thomas for his fourth-place finish at the GLVC Championships.

Thomas placed fourth in that conference championship with a three-round score of 221 (74-72-75). For the season, he had the best stroke average on the team at 76.9 per round, which included a season best score of 69 at the Drury Battle at the Creek Tournament where he finished in eighth place. Thomas was UMSL’s top finisher in five tournaments this season and he had four top-ten finishes. His best finish was at the Quincy Fall Invitational where he placed second overall and he was third at the SIUE Cougar Classic in addition to this fourth-place finish at the GLVC Championships.
