Song Shoots Tournament Best 67 in Second Round

Perry Park, Ky. – The Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team got a strong outing from newcomer Ben Song, who shot a two-round score of 141 (74-67) to finish in third place at the Northern Kentucky Fall Invitational.

Song shot a tournament best 67 in the second round, moving him up from eighth place after a 74 in the first round. He finished just five strokes behing tournament medalist Andrew Jewell from Northern Kentucky. Ryan Miller placed 16th with a tournament score of 150 (78-72) as five of UMSL's six golfers had a better second round. The Rivermen shot a season best 294 in that second round, improving by 13 strokes from their opening round score. Mike Lueders placed 22nd with a 154 (75-79), Diego Jimenez finished 26th with a 156 (80-76), Matt Thomas finished 32nd with a 161 (80-81) and Eric Fakes placed 36th with a 166 (84-82).
