UMSL Finishes 18th After Second Round Improvement

Rivermen Shoot 19 Strokes Better in Second Round

Perry Park, Ky. – The Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team finished in 18th place at the Northern Kentucky Spring Regional Tournament this past weekend. The Rivermen followed their trend from the Bellarmine Tournament the week before by shooting significantly better in the second round. UMSL shot a 309 in the second round, 19 strokes better than their first round 328, for a tournament score of 637.

Matt Thomas was UMSL's top finisher for the second straight tournament, shooting identical scores of 76 in each round to finish the tournament at 152. Luigi Wewege shot five strokes btter in the second round, shooting 81-76 - 157 and Ryan Miller was also five strokes better, shooting 83-78 - 161. The biggest improvement was J.R. Siracusa who shot 88-79 - 167, improving by nine strokes in the second round of the tournament.

UMSL will next head to the GLVC Championships to be held April 9-11 in Columbus, Ind.
