UMSL Finishes 8th at First Spring Tournament

Rivermen Improve by 11 Strokes in Second Round

Louisville, Ky. – The Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Bellarmine Intercollegiate Tournament this past weekend, their first spring tournament of the year.

UMSL shot a team score of 350 in the first round, but improved by 11 strokes in the second round, shooting a 339. Matt Thomas shot 81-81 - 163 in the tournament while freshman Luigi Wewege had the biggest improvement, shooting 88 in the opening round and a 78 in the second round for a 166 for the tournament. His second round scored was the sixth lowest round of the day for the tournament. Ryan Miller shot 90-85 - 175 and J.R. Siracusa shot 91-94 - 185.

UMSL will be in action again at the NCAA Spring Regional at Perry Park, Ky., April 1-3.
