UMSL Completes First Tournament of the Season

Jimenez is Top Individual Finisher for Rivermen

Coldwater, Mich. – The UMSL men's golf team finished up their first tournament of the year at the Great Lakes Fall Regional in Coldwater, Mich. The Rivermen improved in round two by one stroke for a two-round score of 639, finishing in 19th place.

The top individual for the Rivermen was Diego Jimenez (Bogota, Columbia) who shot an opening round 78, followed by a 2-over par 74 in the second round for a 152 score for the tournament. Guillaume Chapusot (Paris, France) shot identical 79-79 for a 158 score, and Marcus Deckert also had identical scores, shooting 80-80 for a 160. Eric Fakes (Eureka, Mo.) finished with a 170 (84-86) and David Archibald was one stroke behind him with a 171 (83-88).

The Rivermen will be in action again next weekend when they take part in the Drury Invitational in Sprinfield, Mo., on October 3-5.
