Men's Golf Team Helps Raise $8,800 for Charity Rivermen Take Part in Golfathon to Raise Money O'Fallon, Mo. – The Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team took part in the WingHaven Golf-A-Thon on Monday, May 2, that helped raise $8,800 that went to local charities. Members of the UMSL team participated in the all-day golf marathon that benefited numerous local charities. Beneficiaries of the money raised included JDRF, Leukemia-Lymphoma Society, Fulfilling Dreams and the O'Fallon Family YMCA. Each organization received $2,200 of the money raised as a result of the efforts by a total of 35 golfers who participated. The eagerness of the UMSL men's golf team to participate in the fundraising efforts impressed the beneficiaries as well as other participants. "Having these young men involved in raising funds for such worthy causes is great for the community and for golf," said WingHaven Country Club Head Golf Professional Steve Sebastian. "They represented the University of Missouri-St. Louis well and their participation was deeply appreciated."
