UMSL Has Stronger Second Round to Finish Drury Classic

Chapusot Leads UMSL Golfers in Second Tournament of the Year

Springfield, Mo. – The UMSL men's golf team completed its second tournament of the fall, and for the second time showed improvement from the first round to the second round. UMSL shot a team score of 335 in Monday's first round, and came back on Tuesday to shoot a 332 in the second round.

Guillaume Chapusot (Paris, France) led UMSL with a two round score of 165 (82-83). The next two UMSL finishers were right behind Chapusot as Diego Jimenez (Bogota, Columbia) shot a 166 (82-84) and David Archibald shot a 167 (85-82), including a second round eagle, one of just seven eagles in the entire tournament. Eric Fakes (Eureka, Mo.) showed the biggest improvement in the second round, shooting an 83 on Tuesday, six strokes better than his opening round, to finish with a 172, and Marcus Deckert shot a 186 (86-100).
