UMSL Places 5th at Bellarmine Invitational

Rivermen Shoot Second Best Team Score of the Season

Louisville, Ky. – The UMSL men's golf team shot its second best team score of the year, shooting a 314 in the one-round event at Persimmon Ridge Golf Club. The Rivermen finished in fifth place, one stroke behind Division I Dayton University, and just four strokes behind third-place Findlay.

UMSL's David Archibald shot a 4-over par 76 to finish in a tie for ninth place individually, his highest finish in a tournament this eyar. Marcus Deckert shot a 78 to tie for 18th, and Eric Fakes was one stroke behind him with a 79 to tie for 24th place. Both Deckert and Fakes shot season low scores in the tournament. Michael Luedders shot an 81 and Diego Jimenez shot an 82 to round out the UMSL golfers.

The Rivermen will be home for a tournament next weekend, as they will host the Rivermen Invitational at WingHaven Country Club in O'Fallon, Mo. The two-round tournament will begin on Sunday, April 3, and conclude with the final round on Monday, April 4.
