Lindenwood Wins Rivermen Invitational

Rivermen Finish Sixth at Own Tournament

O’Fallon, Mo. – The UMSL men’s golf team hosted the Rivermen Invitational this year, resurrecting an annual tournament that had not been held since the 1998 season, and saw Lindenwood take home the team title after Monday’s final round. Drury College finished second, just two strokes behind Lindenwood. Brent Bayer from Lincoln took home the individual title, shooting a 71-68, for a two round score of 139 for a five-under par.

Scott Kirchoff had the biggest turnaround for UMSL on day two, shooting a 1-under 71 to finished in a tie for eighth with a 151 total. Mark Rieke shot an identical 77 on each day for a 154 total and a tie for 14th place and Pat Murillo shot a 76-80 for a 17th place finish with a score of 156. Sam Wiles shot an 89-93 for a two round score of 182 for the Rivermen as well.
