| UMSL to Host Rivermen Invitational UMSL to Resurrect Rivermen Invitational St. Louis , Mo. – The UMSL men's golf team is resurrecting a former annual tournament as the team will host the Rivermen Invitational this upcoming weekend. The tournament will take place on Sunday, March 16 and Monday, March 17, and will take place at Winghaven Country Club in O'Fallon, Mo. The Rivermen Invitational started in 1979 and brought some of the finest collegiate golfers to the St. Louis area, and took place every year through the 1998 season. UMSL head coach James Trittler and assistant coach Dustin Ashby, both of whom played in the Rivermen Invitational as players for UMSL, have resurrected the tournament and are looking to resume it on an annual basis. Following is a list of teams that will be competing in this year's invitational: Drury, Kentucky State, Lincoln, Lindenwood, Missouri-St. Louis, Saginaw Valley State, Southwest Baptist and Winona State. The tournament will be a 36-hole tournament, playing 18 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday. Each team will have five golfers, with the best four scores for that day being added together for the team scores.
