Pumas Roar Past Rivermen

UMSL Falls at Saint Joseph's 96-73

Rensselaer, Ind. – The UMSL men’s basketball team got behind early at Saint Joseph’s as the Pumas closed the first half with a 15-6 run over the last five minutes and led by 18 points, 50-32, at halftime. That deficit proved too much for UMSL to overcome in the second half as the Rivermen lost at Saint Joseph’s 96-73.

UMSL was led by Jonathan Griffin (St. Louis, Mo./Normandy) led UMSL with 18 points and seven rebounds on the night. Ike Attah (Port Harcourt, Nigeria) had a career game, scoring a career high 16 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field and 8-of-11 from the line, and pulled down seven rebounds in the loss. Saint Joseph’s controlled the game by shooting 63% from the field while UMSL shot just 34% from the field.

The Rivermen are now 4-8 on the season and drop to 1-5 in the GLVC and will be in action again on Saturday when they travel to play at Indianapolis.
