| Rangers Slip Past UMSL in Overtime Rivermen fall to Wisconsin-Parkside 56-53 Kenosha, Wis. – The UMSL men’s basketball team dropped their eight straight game on Thurday evening, falling 56-53 in overtime to the Rangers of Wisconsin-Parkside. UMSL sparked a 6-0 run in the start of the half, but the Rangers cut the Rivermen lead to one point. UMSL lead until the 3:29 mark, when Rangers' Brian Jordan hit a layup to take a 20-19 led. After a Ranger foul, UMSL quickly tied up the game after Ronnie Banks (Birmingham, Ala./Philips HS) hit one of two from the line. Wisconsin-Parkside went ahead and led 28-24 at the half. The rangers continued thier lead in the second half until Banks hit a layup at the 15 minute mark. UMSL's Sherome Cole (Sikeston, Mo./Richland) took the Rivermen ahead by one point. The Rangers tied the game at 39-39 with 7:59 remaining in regulation. UMSL went up by four points on a jumper by Justin Foust (St. Charles, Mo./St. Chrles West). thr Rangers tied the game again at the 48-48 with 1:28 on the clock. The Rangers hit a bucket to go up by two, but Banks quickly matched that bucket to tie the game at 50-50. On the last shot of the game, UMSL's Jonathan Griffin (St. Louis, Mo./Normandy) was fouled and madew a controveral call that the foul was on the floor and not the shot, so the Rangers and Rivermen went into overtime. The Rangers came out strong, going up by three points. UMSl got within two points, but couldn't take the lead. UMSL falls to Wisconsin-Parkside 56-53 in overtime. UMSl was led by Jonathan Griffin with 12 points seven rebounds and Jared Pratt (Elsberry, Mo.,/Elsberry) also added seven rebounds.
