| Southern Indiana Beats UMSL in Doubleheader Alton, Ill. – The UMSL baseball team dropped a conference doubleheader to visiting Southern Indiana on Tuesday, falling 10-1 and 2-0. Southern Indiana got off to a quick start with four runs in the top of the first inning. UMSL got on the board in the fourth when Matt Tesson led off with a triple to center and scored on a sacrifice fly by Tyler Jacobson. USI then scored two runs in the top of the fifth and four more in the sixth for the 10-1 win. In the second game, the Screaming Eagles got the first lead of the game again, scoring twice in the third inning. USI then held that lead for the game and won 2-0 to sweep the doubleheader. UMSL
is now 15-16 on the season and is 11-13 in the Great Lakes Valley Confernece.
UMSL will be on the road this coming weekend for a series at SIU Edwardsville.
UMSL will play at SIUE on Thursday night at 7 pm for a single non-conference
game, then play a conference doubleheader on Saturday and a single conference
game on Sunday.
