| UMSL Starts Season With Successful Florida Trip Ft. Myers, Fla. – The Missouri-St. Louis baseball team opened their season with a trip to Florida for six games, and walked away with a 5-1 record, including a 2-1 record in GLVC action after a three-game series against Northern Kentucky. The season started on Thursday, March 8, with a doubleheader against two different opponents. UMSL opened with a 13-2 win over St. Rose College, and then had a big offensive game with a 21-5 win over the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. The Rivermen started confernece player in Florida as well with a three-game series against preseason conference favorite Northern Kentucky. After losing the first game 2-0 to the Norse, UMSL swept a doubleheader on Saturday, March 10, winning the first game 4-3 and taking the second game 9-2. The Rivermen closed out their Florida trip with a 12-4 win over St. Micheal's on Sunday. UMSL will return to conference action this week when they play at Missouri-Rolla on Wednesday, March 14.
