Scott Lavelock Named Academic All-District

Sophomore Named Second Team Selection

St. Louis, Mo. – UMSL sophomore Scott Lavelock was named an ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Second Team selection for the 2006 season.

Lavelock, a communications major, was second on the team in hitting with a .311 average on the season. He collected a team best 47 hits on the year with seven doubles, three triples, one home run and a team-high 21 RBI. He was the only player to see action in all 46 games on the season, starting in 45 of those.

Lavelock is the second UMSL student-athlete to earn Academic All-District honors this season, joining men's basketball player Jonathan Griffin.
