UMSL Falls to Kentucky Wesleyan in Last Inning Rivermen Drop Doubleheader to Panthers Owensboro, Ky. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Kentucky Wesleyan, falling 15-2 in the first game and then lost the second game in the final inning. Kentucky Wesleyan got a quick lead with a run in the first inning, then exploded for six runs, five unearned, in the second inning. UMSL got on the board in the top of the third with an RBI triple by Matt Tesson, who then scored an on RBI single by Scott Lavelock. The Panthers responded with five runs in the bottom half of the inning and added two more in the fifth and another run in the sixth for the 15-2 final. The Panthers got on the board in the first inning of the second game as well with a single run. UMSL would tie the game in the eighth inning on a solo home run by Josh Morgan, his team best fifth of the season, to tie the game at 1-1. In the bottom half of the ninth, the Panthers strung together three straight singles, the last one bringing home the game-winning run in a 2-1 loss for UMSL. UMSL is now 11-19 on the season and 10-17 in the GLVC. The Rivermen will play another doubleheader at Kentucky Wesleyan on Sunday.
