Program Reviews at the University of Missouri-St Louis: Their History
Five-Year Reviews originally focused on a compliance model and tended to look at the department rather than student learning in each program. Now faculty have established learning outcomes for the programs and consider how the program might improve students’ experiences.
External reviewers are now typically scholars at comparable universities and are selected in Academic Affairs from nominations by the department. The faculty review teams consist of senior faculty in other departments at UM-St Louis.
