Language requirements Students must provide proof of English Proficiency with one of the following requiements: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) OR Internation English Language Testing System (IELTS). Preparatory language course for new exchange students Texas State Intensive English Program (TSIE):
• TSIE observes the same calendar as Texas State University-San Marcos
• TSIE courses are available to exchange students at no additional cost if the course(s) is part of the regular coarse load of the students.

   A public fixed route bus system, operating weekday hourly service and     services every other hour on Saturdays

   Provides inter-city service to and from San Marcos

Comparable health insurance coverage from abroad allowed/not allowed • Texas State University’s policy requires all international students on non-immigrant visas to secure, at a minimum, the health insurance benefits listed in the Texas State Health Center website as a condition of enrollment.
• The health insurance fee is automatically added to the fee bill at the time of registration. Students who wish to have this fee waived must request an insurance waiver from the University Student Health Center, prior to their payment deadline.
