What
is it like there?
Take advantage of the opportunity to study in Mexico at Tec
de Monterrey and uncover a magical land of contrasts. One that invites
you not only to improve your Spanish skills, but also to unearth Mexican
history, interact with friendly native people, and immerse yourself in
the culture. The international study program is available at nine campuses
throughout Mexico:
- Ciudad de Mexico - A grand city, it's rich in history, culture and entertainment.
- Cuernavaca - The city of eternal spring.
- Estado de Mexico - The effervescence of a great city amidst archeological sites and wonderful natural parks.
- Guadalajara - The Pearl of the West.
- Mazatlan - An old town with unique cultural features and sandy beaches.
- Monterrey - The city of mountains considered the business capital of Mexico.
- Queretaro - Colonial splendor . . . cobblestone streets . . . pedestrian promenades.
- San Luis Potosi - The "two-hour city" is only two hours from many of Mexico's vital cities.
- Toluca - A provincial town with the magic of industrial progress.
Whether you prefer to be near the mountains, by the beach, in a colonial town, or a modern business center, there's a campus that suits your specific needs.
What
will I study?
Students in the international program may take courses taught in
English or Spanish. Types of courses include Spanish language classes
at all levels, Latin American history and culture, business, and
an internship (for those students with a high level of Spanish).

What
is the language of instruction?
English and/or Spanish.
Where
will I live?
Students at most campuses will live in homestays.
This is an excellent way to immerse yourself in Mexican lifestyle and
language. The fee for homestay ($1,600 - $2,000 per semester, depending
on location) includes a shared room, two or three meals a day (Monday through
Sunday), laundry, and utilities. Host families are carefully screened
and your preferences are taken into consideration when matching you with
a family.
Residence halls are available only at the Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Queretero campuses. The fee for dormitories ($1,700 - $3,500 per semester, depending on location) does not include any meals.
When
can I go?
Students may attend for the fall semester, winter semester, academic
year, or summer session.
What
are the eligibility requirements?
Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and be a sophomore,
junior, or senior.

much does it cost?
Below are the 2008-2009 estimated costs for one semester (4 months) at Monterrey Tec
compared to a semester at UM-St. Louis. When you participate in a UM-St. Louis exchange program, like ITESM, you continue to pay UMSL tuition and may use your financial aid. In addition, both CIS and external scholarships are available.
