INHOLLAND University
University of Missouri-St. Louis Exchange Program in the Netherlands
|
A great program for international business students. Internships are possible for those students staying a full academic year. |
What
is it like there?
INHOLLAND University is the result of the merger of four professional
education schools and is one of the larger Universities in the Netherlands.
UMSL students take courses at the INHOLLAND Amsterdam/Diemen campus, a twenty-minute
metro ride from the city center of Amsterdam.
On a world map, the Netherlands is very small. The longest distance you can drive from north to south will take about four hours. To the east the Netherlands borders Germany, to the south Belgium, and to the north and west the North Sea. The people of Amsterdam pride themselves on their tolerance; freedom and independence are among the most valuable principles they have. It is also a beautiful city full of canals, historical buildings and houseboats, as well as an exciting city with many theatres and pubs.
What
will I study?
UM-St. Louis students may take courses in the International
Business and Management Studies program at the Amsterdam/Diemen campus.
All of the classes are taught in English. After one semester of
study, the IBMS may assist UM-St. Louis students in locating an
internship for the second semester of study.
What
is the language of instruction?
English. A beginning Dutch language course is also available and recommended
for all students to take.
Where
will I live?
Students live on the Diemen campus in a new student residence, Campus Bergwijkdreef. Rooms include their own shower, toilet, kitchen, and balcony. You can live in a single room (Approx. €2685 per semester) or double room (approx. €1515 per semester - same room as singles, but with a bunkbed). Living here offers
easy access to classes and local transportation (nearby bus, metro, and train stops). Most students purchase an inexpensive used
bike to travel around the city. You can view further information and photos of the residence here.
When
can I go?
Fall semester, Winter semester, or the Academic Year
What
are the eligibility requirements?
Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 and be a sophomore,
junior, or senior. Students should have a business major
or minor.
