Located in Scotland’s capital city Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt University has been consistently ranked in the top ten institutions in the UK. Scotland’s beautiful scenery, friendly people, rich culture and Scottish education are renowned throughout the world. The University’s origins date back to 1821 through the School of Arts of Edinburgh. Chemistry research work at Heriot-Watt encompasses a wide field in response to the needs of a modern technological society. The broad spectrum of interests of the research staff ranges from fundamental aspects of pure chemistry to interdisciplinary areas, which involve interactions with physics, biochemistry and applied science.
