What is it like there?

Auckland University of Technology is a vibrant campus in the heart of Auckland with more than 24,000 students. AUT Faculty of Business is one of the largest business schools in New Zealand. Their focus is on providing a pragmatic 'real world’ approach, ensuring excellence in learning and teaching and developing outstanding graduates for professional practice in business. There are about 4,000 students in the business school.
AUT Business has a purpose built, world class business school, completed in July 2005 and situated on Wellesley Campus in the heart of Auckland City. AUT Business is situated in the heart of Auckland's central business district and is surrounded by theatres, cafes, restaurants and bars to suit all budgets. Auckland's Aotea Square, which thrives with activity and performances, is close by. And most of New Zealand's leading corporations are within walking distance.

What will I study?
At this time, the exchange program with AUT is open to business-related
majors only. Students will take courses in the Faculty
of Business in fields such as accounting, advertising, business economics,
commerical law, e-business, finance, information technology, international
business, management, and marketing. A course catalog and CD-rom are available
in the Study Abroad Office, 261 MSC.
What is the language of instruction?
English.
Where will I live?
Accommodation on the Wellesley Campus is in student
apartments. Prices range from $173NZ
(small room) to $189NZ (large room) per week. There is a $200NZ placement and student fee, plus a $300NZ
refundable deposit.
When can I go?
The academic calendar is different in New Zealand than in the US:
First semester = February - June
Second semester = July - November
UMSL students may attend AUT for either semester or for a full academic year.
What are the eligibility requirements?
Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75, be a business major,
and have junior, senior, or MBA standing.

How much does it cost?
Below are the 2008-2009 estimated costs for one semester (4 months) at AUT
compared to a semester at UM-St. Louis. When you participate in a UM-St. Louis exchange program, like Auckland University of Technology, you continue to pay UMSL tuition and may use your financial aid. In addition, both CIS and external scholarships are available.
