Democracy and Civil Society
Belfast, Northern Ireland This program will focus on the themes of democracy, inclusion and active citizenship: minorities and participation. Lectures will be multi-disciplinary and taught in English.
The course content is structured around five clusters:
1. Democray and minority participation
2. Conceptions of minorities
3. Minority policies
4. Minorities in the international context
5. Identity politics
6. Dialogue with local actors on minority issues
The summer school is set up as a residential seminar where students and
teaching staff are living and working together throughout the whole duration
of the school. The venue of this year is the Queen's University of Belfast, Northern Ireland. All participants will be accommodated in the Elms student accommodation residence: full details at:

This is a short walk from the main campus at Queen’s University.
A social and cultural programme is offered and includes movies, concerts, and excursions.

Application Process:
Students will need to submit the following documents to the Study Abroad

or in the Study Abroad Office, 261 MSC. Deadline is February 22.

2. One letter of reference
3. Transcript (Use study abroad transcript request form)
4. Scholarship application and scholarship essay
Upon your acceptance to the program, additional forms will be mailed to you. You will need to complete and return them to the Study Abroad Office in a timely manner.
Mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation:
All
