University of Hull UK Summer School
The University of Hull's UK Summer School is specifically designed for students who want to deepend their understanding of the art, literature, history and politics of Britain. Hull is ideally placed to explore the UK and is a stepping off point for those who want to travel to mainland Europe.
The University of Hull is ideally placed to explore the UK, and the Summer School includes trips to York, Whitby, Haworth, Stratford Upon Avon, the English Lake District, London and the Houses of Parliament, and the stately homes of the English Aristocracy.
So if you want to see for yourself what life is like in the UK and learn about its culture and history, then look no further than the University of Hull UK Summer School.
Courses and Dates:
The five course program may be studied in part or in whole and students may select consecutive courses from any point in the program. Each course is worth 1.5 US credits and may be combined for a total of 3 or 6 credits (transfer credit). Students arrive on the Saturday before the course starts for orientation. Students may combine weeks to create a program from 1 to 5 weeks long.
Week 1: Dracula and the Cult of the Vampire. July 6-10
Week 2: Wuthering Heights and the Brontës. July 13-17
Week 3: Shakespeare and Renaissance Drama. July 20-24
Week 4: Romance of the North: from Vikings to Lakeland Poets. July 27-31
Week 5: The British Political System. August 3-7

Accommodation is available beginning the Saturday before your course begins through the Sunday after your course(s) end. Students will be accommodated in self-catering student houses or in residence halls. All students will have access to the library, internet, and may may use of the University's numerous cafes, restaurants, bars, and recreation facilities.
*PROGRAM FEE is payable to the University of Hull and includes:
Course related field trips
* Program fee does not include meals, personal expenses, airfare, or passport costs.
Any one week: £650 (British Pounds)
Any two consecutive weeks: £1300
Any three consecutive weeks: £1750
Any four consecutive weeks: £2100
Five weeks: £2500

Mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation:
All UMSL students who study abroad are required to attend pre-departure orientation. This session will cover registration and financial aid, credit transfer, travel, health and safety topics, culture shock, and much more. Details and location.
