Study Abroad Office

Study Abroad and Exchange Programs by Department - Overview

For most study abroad programs through the University of Missouri-St. Louis, you will be directly enrolled in a foreign university. Not only does this allow for cultural immersion and affordable programs, but it also gives you the opportunity to take coursework in your major, minor, or other departments. Many universities offer coursework taught in English, so knowledge of a foreign language is not necessarily a prerequisite.

It is important to talk with an advisor in your academic department to ensure the classes you take while abroad will apply towards your degree program. Stop by the Study Abroad Office in 261 MSC for credit approval forms.

Study abroad is also an excellent time to take general education requirements or interesting courses not offered at UMSL. Keep an open mind and good communication with the Study Abroad Office and your advisor when selecting a program.
