Garett Foster, Ph.D.

Industrial-Organizational Psychology


Dr. Garett Foster received his Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Bowling Green State University in 2017. His research interests focus on applied psychological measurement, otherwise known as psychometrics. Major areas include advancing measurement tools and techniques in item response theory as well as studying substantive topics in employee motivation and well-being. He also regularly collaborates with researchers and practitioners in other fields including behavioral neuroscience, evolutionary psychology, and biostatistics. Dr. Foster’s consulting work has focused on industrial topics with a variety of clients, including hiring and promoting public safety officers, assessing engagement and commitment of employees at a multinational organization, and analyzing data for leadership development at several Fortune 500 companies.
