At UMSL, people make the difference.

To kick-off the spring 2017 semester, we asked the campus community to help us get to the core of who our people are by taking a brief, one word survey. We simply asked for one word to describe the people who choose UMSL. We heard from nearly 1,200 of you! And, in a word, the results were awesome!

15 words accounted for 45% of all responses.

From Jan. 18-Feb. 13, nearly 1,000 online survey responses were collected.

On Jan. 18, University Marketing and Communications hosted a photo booth at the Winter Expo where Tritons shared their spirit and their one word. Check out the pictures on the right.

The week of Jan. 23, the UMSL community was invited to post their one word - written on sticky notes - on the glass of the MSC bridge for all to see. Campus photographer August Jennewein captured the fun.

On Feb. 10, MarComm participated in the Homecoming Office Decorating contest, which featured an interactive Choose Your Word display in 60 JCP.
