Our Mission: Guided by Inclusive Excellence

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) supports the strategic vision and values of the University of Missouri-St. Louis by providing leadership, support, and initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. In addition, it is the role of ODEI to work in partnership with campus units to ensure that the university is in full compliance with all federal, state, and local equal opportunity laws and Title IX regulations.

The office provides professional development opportunities, oversees the University's grievance and equity-resolution process, sponsors campus events and conversations, provides leadership for strategic diversity initiatives guided by inclusive excellence, and serves as a resource for staff and faculty hiring.

Our Why: Strategic Priorities

We bring a diverse set of talents, knowledge, and experience to this increasingly complex work.

As one of the most culturally and ethnically diverse institutions in Missouri, our work is guided by the Inclusive Excellence Framework and the University's commitment to maintaining a climate where all students, faculty, staff and visitors can thrive. To this end, we endeavor daily to foster inclusion and equity, to amplify the voices of our students, faculty and staff and provide avenues for understanding and awareness
