What to Know Before You Arrive

 

Orientation Sessions

At orientation, you will receive a lot of materials and information that will be very helpful in getting you aquainted with our campus and the people that are here to help you be academically successful. Here are some things that you can do now to prepare you for your orientation session.

Confirmation Packet:

After you have registered online for your NSO date, you will recieve a confirmation email to your UMSL email account with the date. In addition, you will recieve a confirmation packet in the mail prior to your NSO session.

What to Bring

Parking for Orientation

You may park your car in LOT E during the NSO and TT programs. You will not need a parking pass for this day.  Please look for additional signage to assist with navigation around campus.

Lodging

UMSL On-Campus Lodging: 

Limited on-campus lodging is available in Oak Hall.  The cost is $25/night/person.  Bedding and linens are provided.  To reserve a space in Oak Hall during your stay for NSO please call 314-516-4399.

Off Campus Lodging:

UMSL has special rates available at the Hilton Garden Inn, located approximately 5 minutes by car.  The rate is $109 and reservations can be made by calling (314)521-6444 and asking for the UMSL rate or visit www.umsl.edu/orientation.

Meals at Orientation

UMSL Catering will prepare two meals for Orientation participants: Breakfast and Lunch

There will be a wide variety of entrees and side orders at each meal. Vegetarian options will be available to those who indicate that preference when registering for orientation.  If you have other dietary needs, please note these in the accommodations section of your registration.
