SCOPE: The National Waterways Conference Collection includes the minutes of annual meetings, newsletters, books, leaflets, publications, memorandum, and press releases assembled since 1960. The materials in this collection date from 1964 to 2003.
EXTENT: The collection consists of 6 full sized record boxes totaling 6 linear feet. Materials are listed according to their box number and arranged to the box level.
HISTORY: The National Waterways Conference was established in 1960 and is an advocate for practical water resource policies. The Conference also recognizes the public value of Americas water sources. Membership includes flood control associations, levee boards, waterway shippers, port authorities and shipyards, among others.
ACCESS: This is collectio P-015. This collection is available for on-site use only in the Rare Book and Manuscripts Reading Room. Some of the collection may be photocopied, digitally scanned or photographed, depending on condition. Researchers are advised to call ahead concerning changes in hours due to University intersessions and holidays. The St. Louis Mercantile Library is located on levels one and two of the Thomas Jefferson Library building. More information about conducting research with the archival collections of the Library, including current building hours and reading room policies, can be found on our Research page. *Important* this collection is housed in an offsite location and is therefore not available on demand.
