P-8: Ray Covington Photograph Collection


HISTORY: Ray Covington had been a member of the U.S. Engineers for over 35 years. His collection consists of river craft photographs and slides spanning the period from 1939 to 1965.

SCOPE: This collection has images of steam and diesel towboats, views of locks and dams, and people at work on the river.

HOLDINGS: 13 linear feet of photographs and slides. Over 2,000 color slides are dated and clearly note the location of boats and river scenes.

ACCESS: This is Special Collection P-8. Some of the collection may be photocopied, digitally scanned, or photographed, depending on condition and restrictions.
