UMSL students and faculty participated in the Third Annual Midwest Bioinformatics Conference at the MU Bond Life Sciences Center April 11th and 12th. This conference brings together researchers in academia and industry who are interested in a broad scope of bioinformatics areas and aims to explore synergies and build collaborations. Computer Science students Matthew Bernardini, Michael Chan, Aditya Karnam Gururaj Rao, and Harper Smith presented posters describing their research on identifying clusters within networks, using a variety of novel approaches, and identifying combinations of genetic markers associated with complex diseases using a unique linear programming methodology. Computer Science Assistant Professor Sharlee Climer presented an invited talk at the conference
