Welcome!  My name is Dennis Owsley.  I've been producing and hosting jazz radio shows on St. Louis Public Radio, 90.7 KWMU since April 1983.  I am currently in my 29th year.  This website has pages with the following information.

Jazz Unlimited has won "Best Jazz Show in St. Louis" in the Riverfront Times Poll six out of the last seven years.  The web plaques for the awards are on this page.

January 24, 2008 was proclaimed "Dennis Owsley Day" in the City of St. Louis.

I was awarded the Millard S. Cohen Lifetime AchievementAward from St. Louis Public Radio in 2010.

My book, "City of Gabriels-The Jazz History of St. Louis 1895-1973" published by Reedy Press in 2006 was was given the "Award of Merit" by the Association of Recorded Sound Collections for research in jazz history in 2007.

A Gallery of my Jazz Photographs.  Jazz Unlimited images are now being published in venues other than the Jazz Unlimited Website.  Jazz Unlimited photographs were  on exhibit in my one man show  at the Sheldon Art Gallery in St. Louis from September 23, 2005 until January 21, 2006.  An image of George Coleman's shadow on the wall of Jazz at the Bistro was published in Amsterdam in a poster and program for the 2001 Andersen Jazz Prize.  A photo of Milt Hinton is found in the textbook, Joseph Machlis and Kristine Forney The Enjoyment of Music, W. W.
