Job Announcement: Tenure Track Assistant Professor (Nonprofit Management)
Doug Harms received his Master of Public Policy Administration (MPPA) degree with an emphasis in Local Government Management in 1982. Harms has been the city administrator of Des Peres since 1985. He has been a leader in the local government community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Missouri Municipal League and as president of the St. Louis Area City Management Association (SLACMA).
He has won numerous awards for excellence in local government management, including the Outstanding Local Government Achievement Award from East West Gateway in 2010.
“Doug has mentored many up and coming local government officials, including several PPA alumni,” said Deborah Balser, director of the Public Policy Administration Program and associate professor of business administration and public policy administration at UMSL.
Harms was named a PPA Distinguished Alumni in 2012.
