Timothy A. Wingert, O.D.
Associate Professor of Optometry
Chief of Third-year Primary Care Service

Dr. Wingert is interested in the clinical aspects of optometry and how optometric services are delivered. He is also interested in the visual demands of different occupations and the restrictions put on wearers of visual aids and protective eyewear. He is currently involved in several studies comparing the validity of clinical testing procedures and the prevalence of various vision anomalies in different populations.

Dr. Wingert is a Past President of the Missouri Optometric Association and serves as the Chair of the American Academy Section on Public Health and Environmental Vision. He was named a J. William Fulbright Scholar in 2005 through the program sponsored by the United States Department of State.
