Professor

Dr. Peck directs a program of research primarily aimed at studying neural control of saccadic eye movement by midbrain structures. This research program includes physiological investigations of individual cells in the superior colliculus and behavioral studies of eye movements in humans. A major goal of this research is to understand how saccadic eye movements are controlled in complex environments with targets from several modalities. This work has clinical implications in the areas of environmental vision, low vision and reading disability. It has been supported by the National Institutes of Health and by the University of Missouri Research Board.
