  • Dr. Harris is responsible for the operation of the Externship Program for fourth year students. This involves the planning and advisement of students while they are in their third year and monitoring their progress during the fourth year.

  • Dr. Harris is the Optometry College's contact person for Minority Affairs. This involves:

    • recruitment of students

    • counseling and advisement of optometry students

    • participation in community and school health fairs

    • participation in Career Day Programs

    • Advisor for the UMSL Chapter of the National Optometric Student Association

  • Dr. Harris is the 1997-98 Past-President of the St. Louis Optometric Society
