The Nursing Alumni Chapter is one on the most active and enthusiastic at UM-St. Louis The Chapter recently endowed the Elizabeth McIntosh and Jerry Durham Lecture in Nursing Science with a gift of $25,000. The name was chosen to honor the past, present and future of the College. The Chapter also co-sponsored the 1999 gala "Chasing the Dream" held at the newly renovated Chase Hotel. This event was a smashing success and raised over $55,000 for nursing scholarships.

The Nursing Chapter sponsors the following ongoing activities:
Annual Alumni Reunion Luncheon Held each year on the last Saturday in April, these reunions are a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with old friends. The Alumni Chapter presents an informative program of speakers and conducts its annual business meeting with the general membership.
Roses at Graduation Three times a year, at December, May and August graduations, representatives from the Alumni Chapter present roses to graduating seniors. The presentation is made at a special nursing reception held before the general UM-St. Louis graduation.
Welcome Back Barbecue The Alumni Chapter along with the Dean of Nursing and the Student Nurses Association co-sponsor a welcome back barbecue held during the first week of the school year in late August. This is a chance for students to meet alumni, faculty and staff of the College in addition to enjoying free food, music and door prizes.
Survival Kits Alumni remember that finals week can be stressful. So during Winter and Spring semester finals week members of the Alumni Chapter distribute goodie bags to frazzled students. In past years the survival kits have included: candy, pens, soda, aspirin and popcorn
Class Representative Program This program helps keep you in touch with your classmates. The goal is to have at least one volunteer from each class to encourage classmates to attend class reunions at the annual luncheon or on their own. Volunteers remind you to contact the University Alumni Relations office when you have a name, address, telephone or e-mail change. Call 314-516-5833 or e-mail.
College of Nursing Alumni Scholarship Endowment Once a year, scholarships are awarded to deserving undergraduate nursing students who show academic promise and financial need. Volunteers are needed to sit on the selection committee.
