PhD Admission Criteria

• Graduate of an accredited BSN program with a GPA of 3.2 or an accredited MSN program with a GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
• 2 letters of reference
• Official and acceptable GRE scores
• Graduate level descriptive/inferential statistics course
• 1-2 page description of the applicant’s research plans
• Graduate level descriptive/inferential statistics course
• Official transcripts from all universities attended
• Interview by invitation

To apply, complete the following:

• UMSL Graduate School on-line application
• Supplemental nursing application
• Request official transcripts and GRE scores be sent to the UMSL Graduate School
• Arrange letters of reference from individuals who are familiar with your academic ability
• 1-2 page description of your proposed research
• Copies of Missouri RN license
• International applicants must apply through the international student office and complete the TOEFL exam

All application materials must be received by the College of Nursing no later than April 1 of the proposed enrollment year.
