BSN Accelerated Admission Criteria

Admission to the program is highly selective and competitive. Admission to the University does not ensure that a student will be admitted to the Accelerated Track. The program requires full-time enrollment. Students are required to furnish their own transportation to and from campus and to clinical agencies. The following criteria are used to select applicants for admission:

  • Admission to the University
  • Applicants must have a Baccalaureate degree or have completed 62 semester hours of academic credit before beginning the program, including prescribed coursework
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for students with a degree or 3.2 on a 4.0 scale for students not holding a degree
  • Completion of all general education and science courses for a major in nursing with a grade of "C" or higher*
  • Required science courses must have been completed within the last 10 years prior to enrollment

*Applicants planning to complete prerequisite coursework at other institutions should consult an academic advisor of the College of Nursing prior to enrollment to ensure that such coursework meets the College's requirements
